PARAMOUNT, Calif. /California Newswire/ -- The City of Paramount has launched a pilot program to enhance air quality compliance in the city by submitting selected business license applications and renewals to South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) staff for their review.

The proposed legislation enhances the ability of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to quickly shut down businesses that are emitting dangerous levels of air pollution in violation of federal or state air quality requirements.

As a result, SCAQMD has ordered Aerocraft to suspend certain operations.
