Calif. Governor Brown Appeals FEMA's Denial of Presidential Major Disaster Declaration
SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ -- In a letter to President Barack Obama, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today appealed a denial by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to declare a major disaster and provide federal assistance and statewide Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding for counties impacted by severe storms in March.
Calif. Governor Brown Announces California Assistance for Montana Pipeline Spill
SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ -- Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced that California has dispatched a team of experts to assist in the Yellowstone River oil spill response. The deployment of California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) staff was approved after the State of California received a request from the State of Montana for mutual aid assistance following a pipeline break on July 1, 2011.
