MONTEBELLO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — State Assemblymembers Marty Block, Mike Gatto, Ricardo Lara, Henry Perea and Norma Torres announced their support of Tom Calderons campaign for Sate Assembly today. To date, Calderon has been endorsed by over 20 members of the California State Legislature.
“Californians are tired of cuts to essential services and programs that our state provides—like funding for schools, community colleges, universities, and public safety,” said Assemblymember Marty Block. “Our state’s residents deserve more than endless cuts. They deserve a government that is dedicated to fully funding a solid education system, and keeping our neighborhoods safe by ensuring adequate funding for public safety. I’m endorsing Tom Calderon for Assembly because I trust that he’ll work hard in the Assembly to develop innovative solutions that help fix our state’s toughest problems.”
“I’m proud to endorse Tom Calderon for Assembly,” said Assemblyman Mike Gatto. “We need more legislators like him, who are intelligent and savvy, and willing to put in the long hours necessary to pass legislation that repairs our schools, stimulates our economy, and gets our state’s residents back to work.”
“Tom Calderon is my choice for the 58th Assembly District,” said Assemblymember Henry Perea. “He’s already got a long list of major accomplishments from his last term in the legislature, and I know that he’ll continue his stellar record of public service once he goes back to Sacramento.”
Calderon is running in California’s 58th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Artesia, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Cerritos, Commerce, Downey, Montebello, Pico Rivera and portions of Norwalk. He represented the 58th State Assembly District from 1998-2002 and previously served on the Montebello Unified School District.
