California Gov. BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued proclamations declaring special elections for the 32nd and 40th Senate Districts of the State of California on May 14, 2013. The primary for these special elections will be held on March 12, 2013.

SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 14th day of May, 2013, within the 32nd Senate District of the State to fill the vacancy of the office of State Senator from that district resulting from the resignation of Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod.
