Assemblymember Muratsuchi

TORRANCE, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) today released the following statement in response to the Legislature unanimously passing Assembly Constitutional Amendment 1 (Second Extraordinary Session), which replaces the current Rainy Day Fund on the November 2014 ballot:

“As a co-author of ACA 2X-1, and as the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Education Funding, I support a stronger rainy day fund so that California will become more fiscally responsible.

I experienced firsthand the importance of a strong rainy day fund as a Torrance Unified School Board member. Saving during good fiscal years for the inevitable down years is just plain common sense.”

Assemblymember Muratsuchi represents the 66th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Gardena, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, the Los Angeles communities of Harbor City and Harbor Gateway, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance and the unincorporated communities of El Camino Village and West Carson.
