SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement after the California Employment Development Department released employment numbers for the month of March:

“I am encouraged by the news that the state has added jobs every month this year, but our unemployment rate remains too high and more action is needed. The most important thing we can do to boost jobs recovery is to ensure Californians are well-trained for the 21st century workforce and employers have incentives to hire them. This means passing the rest of my California Jobs Initiative, specifically my training and hiring tax credit, and fully funding education as I proposed, including higher education. This also means passing pension reform, because no single measure would do more to protect education and other important programs going forward.”
