DELAND, Fla., July 14, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Over 100 quilted items will be on display during guided tours of Florida’s “Gilded Age” Stetson Mansion. Named by Trip Advisor as Florida’s “Most Popular Tourist Attraction,” the Stetson Mansion is the restored and updated winter home of famed hat maker John B. Stetson.

Sponsored by Judy Hansen’s Quilt Shop of Deland, the Quilt Show Tour is in its second year. Designer quilted objects will be on display in the first and second floor of Florida’s first luxury estate. Themed vignettes include travel, stained glass and Egypt.

Award winning guides will escort visitors through the mansion with a running commentary about Stetson, the mansion, the renovation and the quilts on display.

“The Mansion has dozens of beautiful intricate floor and window patterns often seen in quilt patterns. It provides the perfect backdrop for our show,” said Judy Hansen, owner of the Quilt Shop.

Visitors are immediately spellbound after entering the front gates of the towering 1886 mansion on 2.3 acres. There are four buildings on the privately owned estate with 10,000 square feet that blend the past with the present seamlessly with every modern convenience. All the original architectural details are intact. The Stetson Mansion is one of the first homes in the world to be designed and built with Edison electricity. Edison was a personal friend of Stetson.

Famous guests to the Mansion include President Cleveland, King Edward VII, Tiffany and Edison. The Stetson Hat Company celebrates 150 years in 2015.

Quilt Show Tours are about one hour and twenty minutes and will operate twice daily at 10:30 and 1:30 from July 18 to August 1. Guests will meet the current owners of the mansion who saved the grand historic structure listed on the National Register. The cost is $20 plus tax.

Reservations are required and are booked online at

Stetson Mansion, 1031 Camphor Lane, DeLand, FL 32720.
