SANTA CLARA, Calif. /California Newswire/ — SecuGen Corporation will be showing a completely new, smaller fingerprint reader at the 2013 Biometrics Consortium Conference in Tampa, Fla. from September 17-19. The new SecuGen fingerprint reader and its OEM sensor version are both FAP 20 Mobile ID and PIV certified by the FBI.
Won Lee, CEO of SecuGen said, "We are very excited about the development of our new sensor technologies. We are always looking for ways to provide our partners with state of the art products and tools. We are very pleased to be able to make the new smaller fingerprint reader and sensor available to our partners around the world."
SecuGen products have long been known for capturing high quality images, being very rugged, as well as being affordable for use in large deployments. The FBI has certified the new fingerprint reader and its OEM sensor as meeting both PIV image quality specifications and FAP 20 Mobile ID requirements.
SecuGen has developed a remarkably compact USB fingerprint sensor that is less than half the height of SecuGen's previous USB sensors. The small size will allow it to be integrated into hardware products where space is at a premium. SecuGen supplies OEM sensors to companies that embed them into their own products such as Access Control and Time & Attendance systems, kiosks, ATMs, safes, industrial equipment and many other types of equipment. The new smaller fingerprint sensor will be available to partners that require a small, rugged, high quality USB fingerprint reader at an affordable price.
Dan Riley, Vice President of Engineering for SecuGen said, "Fingerprint readers are now being deployed in increasingly diverse environments and must be able to capture great images time after time without any degradation. We are very pleased to be able to offer such a very high quality device in the new smaller fingerprint reader."
The new smaller fingerprint reader and its OEM version will be available for purchase in the near future. Visit SecuGen at booth 519 at the Biometric Consortium Conference in Tampa, Fla., from September 17 through the 19th to see the demonstration.
