SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments. First, Don Dietrich, 54, of Scotts Valley, has been appointed to the 14th District Agricultural Association, Santa Cruz County Fair Board.

Dietrich has been a heavy equipment operator at Operating Engineers Local Union 3 since 2011. In 2011, he served as a union representative at the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers Local 21. Dietrich was a business representative at Operating Engineers Local Union 3 from 1999 to 2010. He served as a deputy sheriff in the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office from 1985 to 1999. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Dietrich is a Democrat.

Stephanie Fontana, 28, of Watsonville, has been appointed to the 14th District Agricultural Association, Santa Cruz County Fair Board. Fontana has been a 4-H program representative for the University of California Cooperative Extension Services of Santa Cruz County since 2007 and for San Benito County since 2010. She was a teacher at the Kinder Cottage Children’s Center from 2006 to 2010. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Fontana is a Democrat.

Frank Bruce Oneto, 88, of Boulder Creek, has been appointed to the 14th District Agricultural Association, Santa Cruz County Fair Board, where he has been a member since 2001. Oneto was a water treatment operator and manager at the Park Mutual Water Company from 1974 to 1993 and a self-employed practitioner from 1968 to 1986. Oneto was partner at Ruffo and Oneto from 1960 to 1968 and an attorney at the Law Office of Albert J. Ruffo from 1956 to 1960. He is a member of the American Legion, Agricultural History Project, Santa Cruz County Fair Heritage Foundation and Boulder Creek Historical Society. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Oneto is a Democrat.
