SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement congratulating Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye on being sworn-in as the next chief justice of California:

Governor Schwarzenegger announced his nomination of Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye on July 21, 2010, and she was unanimously confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments on August 25, 2010. The voters confirmed Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye as the next chief justice of California on November 2, 2010. She will officially assume office on January 3, 2011.
