California Gov. BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On Monday this week, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.announced the following appointments: First, Elizabeth Morris, 66, of San Diego, has been appointed to the California Housing Partnership Corporation. Morris has been principal at E.M. Advisors since 2008. She served in multiple positions at the San Diego Housing Commission from 1979 to 2008, including president, chief executive officer, acting assistant deputy director and development specialist. This position requires Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Morris is a Democrat.

Alex Sanchez, 66, of Aptos, has been appointed to and designated chair of the California Housing Partnership Corporation. Sanchez has been executive director at the Santa Clara County Housing Authority since 2001. He served as director of the City of San Jose Department of Housing from 1988 to 2001, director of housing for the City of Santa Ana from 1981 to 1988 and deputy director of the City of Bell Gardens Redevelopment Agency from 1974 to 1981. This position requires Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Sanchez is registered decline-to-state.

Nicole Lim, 40, of Santa Rosa, has been appointed to the 4th District Agricultural Association, Sonoma-Marin Fair Board of Directors. Lim has been executive director at the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center since 2007, executive director of community relations at Naqmayam Communications since 2005 and a staff attorney at the National Indian Justice Center since 1999. Lim was a program manager at the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center from 1996 to 2007 and a training coordinator and law clerk at the National Indian Justice Center from 1994 to 1999. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lim is a Democrat.

Tara Smith, 53, of Petaluma, has been appointed to the 4th District Agricultural Association, Sonoma-Marin Fair Board of Directors. Smith has been owner of Tara Firma Farms since 2009. She was senior sales leader at LTC Financial Partners from 2003 to 2009 and held multiple positions at GE Capital from 1994 to 2003, including divisional vice president of the Long Term Care Insurance Division and regional sales manager. Smith was director of national recruiting at LTC Inc. from 1992 to 1994 and a sales associate at Microsoft from 1989 to 1992. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Smith is a Libertarian.
