SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Speaker John A. Pérez (D- Los Angeles) today named Assistant Speaker pro Tempore Isadore Hall, III (D – Los Angeles) Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization.

The Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization’s primary policy jurisdictions are public records, open meetings laws, natural disasters, tribal and non-tribal gaming, alcohol, tobacco products and horseracing.

“Assemblymember Hall has been an important part of the Assembly leadership team, and I know as Chair of the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee he will be an effective voice in advancing our goals of more open and effective government for Californians,” said Speaker Pérez. “Chairman Hall will also continue the leadership of Assemblymember Joe Coto in making sure the Committee does its part to help California save and create jobs and move toward economic recovery.”

“I want to thank Speaker Pérez for entrusting me with this important responsibility,” said Assemblymember Hall. “As Chairman, I remain committed to make fair and responsible decisions when considering the many important public policy issues facing California.”
