SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GoED) Director Joel Ayala today issued the following statement regarding the release of Green Capital Alliance’s report titled, “Advancing the Clean Energy Economy in California’s Capital Region.”

“Today, the Green Capital Alliance released a clean-tech job growth report indicating that the Sacramento region has led the state’s job growth in the clean-tech sector—to the tune of 13,000 workers—and this is good news for both local and state economies. Various city, community and academic leaders have worked diligently over the years to make the Sacramento region green and this report shows that they are on the right track. Thanks to the region’s leadership and the state’s environmental initiatives, Sacramento will solidify its place on the green map while leading California to play an increasingly prominent role in the overall green economy.”

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GoED) was launched by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to help stimulate and facilitate economic growth across the state. GoEd serves as a one-stop shop for business needs and can offer assistance, resources, and other tools to assist with the creation, expansion and retention of businesses. GoED’s mission is to make it easier to do business in the state.
