LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On Thursday, February 16, The Story Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to furthering communication and life skills in at-risk and under-served teens, will launch its "StoryTelling Series," a sequence of intimate moderated conversations with legendary filmmakers and artists. Todd Felderstein, The Story Project's executive director, is thrilled to have such Hollywood veterans make up our inaugural event.

This first evening of anecdotes entitled "Movie Producers," features producers Mace Neufeld (Invictus, Patriot Games, The Hunt For Red October), Denise Di Novi (Crazy Stupid Love, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas) and Victoria Alonso (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers) and will be moderated by Peabody award winning producer Lea Thau of KCRW. These fundraisers will provide stories from the set often never shared in front of an audience.

Founded in 1998 The Story Project's successes are the direct result of a curriculum rooted in project-based media. Each and every one of our programs tackle everyday obstacles yet, when addressed through the entertainment-arts, these conflicts seem much more manageable. Through the span of a twelve to sixteen week semester the students strengthen, as a group: project management skills, creativity, practical knowledge with cameras, picture editing software, art-based media, and have a measurable improvement of hope as they discover their own personal journeys, one story at a time.
