SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property, casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced today that Gerrad Newton has joined the firm as a producer within their CNCDA Auto Dealer Specialty Program team. Newton will be focused on workers’ compensation and garage liability for auto and motorcycle dealers across California. He will be based in Sacramento and report to Eric Shaw, Senior Vice President and Program Leader.

Newton brings 16 years of insurance industry experience gained from both the carrier and brokerage sides of the business to his role with EPIC. He will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and helping clients implement strong workers’ compensation and garage safety programs.

Prior to joining EPIC, Newton was an account executive with Zurich Financial where he was responsible for new business development and managed a $2M book of business. His focus was predominately on risk management and commercial insurance offerings in the automotive retail space.

Previously, Newton held account consultant, regional account manager and account manager positions with Gallagher Bassett Services, Intracorp (a division of CIGNA HealthCare), and Corvel Corporation.

Newton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University Sacramento in Criminal Justice Administration.
