NAPLES, Fla., Nov. 6, 2014 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Southwest Florida NAPA Auto Care Centers is adding to their Veterans Day tribute this year by sponsoring 40 Teddy Bears to be given to deployed military through Teddy Bears for the Troops, Inc. They are also inviting the public to contribute toward sending more teddy bears to our deployed military by visiting any of their seven Naples, North Naples or Bonita Springs locations which are serving as collection sites, where any size donation is encouraged for this cause.
Teddy Bears for the Troops is a local non-profit organization that has been sending bears to deployed military for over 7 years. “This is a mission close to my heart and my church congregation also participates by blessing each teddy bear before being sent to deployed military,” states Catherine Latimer, CEO of Teddy Bears for the Troops, Inc., whose family-owned auto repair business is a member of the elite group of NAPA Auto Care Centers known as Southwest Florida NAPA Auto Care Centers.
“Many deployed military have written emails back to me letting me know how much they appreciate a bear, especially those in war zones who have lost friends to an IED or sniper. They have said in their letters that it is a comfort to hug a bear each night when they don’t have a loved one to hug,” shared Catherine.
Any deployed military member may receive a bear. If the public would like to request that a teddy bear be sent to a deployed military member, please provide the member’s name, APO address and the sponsor’s name. A request to send a teddy bear to a deployed military member can be submitted by visiting Teddy Bears for the Troops website or by visiting one of the (7) Southwest Florida NAPA Auto Care Centers where you can also see one of the teddy bears on display.
