CULVER CITY, Calif. /California Newswire — NEWS/ — The Culver City City Council today announced that it has awarded 26 organizations $200,518 for the 2026 Performing Arts Grant Program for presentations of music, theater and dance events. The Cultural Affairs Commission and staff have implemented Culver City’s Performing Arts Grant Program since its inception in 1994. A Peer Review Panel consisting of eight independent individuals, with professional performing arts expertise and non-profit arts experience, scored the applications. Individual grants will range from $4,000 to $8,000 per organization.

“Our City is a vibrant destination with many opportunities to participate in arts of all kinds. Our grant program is proud to support a variety of stories and experiences,” said Mayor Freddy Puza. “By showcasing a wide array of music, theatre and dance we can create new opportunities for connection and belonging. There is truly something for everyone on our stages in 2026.”
Cultural Affairs Commissioners Tania Fleischer and Shona Gupta, both of whom serve on the Grants Subcommittee, provided a joint statement about the 2026 program.

The amount of grant funding available is dependent upon the total deposits made into the City’s Cultural Trust Fund each fiscal year. Additionally, the 2026 Performing Arts Grant Program is supported by contributions from Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Culver City Arts Foundation.
