LEXINGTON, Mass. — The Classic Group, Inc., architects and custom home builders located in Lexington, is proud to announce Philip Bates, a principal of the firm, was elected President of the Eastern Massachusetts National Association of the Remodeling Industry (EM NARI) for 2009. With 261 members, EM NARI is a not-for-profit trade association committed exclusively to enhancing the professionalism of the remodeling industry and providing ethical and quality service to the region’s remodeling homeowners. Representing full-service remodeling contractors, design-build firms, architects, designers, subcontractors, product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and those who provide services and products to the remodeling field, NARI stands as the spokes group of the industry and an ally to the nation’s homeowners.

“As an active member of EM NARI for the last several years as well serving as last year’s Vice President, I am honored to be elected President. I know first hand the importance of this organization to our industry. We have an outstanding board in place for this coming year and hope to accomplish a great deal for our members who rely on strong support groups like NARI, particularly when the economy is so fragile,” states Bates.

Mr. Bates joined The Classic Group in 1992 and became partner in 1996. An experienced carpenter, site supervisor and project manager, he oversees all fieldwork operations and sales for the company. He lives with his wife and two daughters in a Queen Anne Victorian home in Melrose, MA.

The Classic Group designs, builds and renovates distinctive private residences, practicing a collaborative approach to architecture and building and a clear, deliberate communication approach on every project. Principals Kyle Barnard and Philip Bates’ highly specialized team of design and construction professionals offer architectural design, new home and custom home construction, major and minor renovations, and historic restoration. The firm is the recipient of many industry awards including being named in 2008 as “Best Architecture – West” by Boston Home Magazine’s Best of Boston Home Awards.
