SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on Tuesday announced the appointment of Donald I. Segerstrom Jr. to a judgeship in the Tuolumne County Superior Court.
Segerstrom, 60, of Sonora, has served as district attorney for Tuolumne County since 2001. Previously, he was a sole civil and criminal defense practitioner from 1989 to 2001. He served as a deputy district attorney for the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office from 1985 to 1988.
Segerstrom was a research attorney for the Third District Court of Appeal from 1981 to 1985. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Prescott College.
He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Douglas Boyack. Segerstrom is a Democrat.
The compensation for this position is $178,789.
