Calif. Gov. Jerry BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Today, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the following appointments: First, Dale Brodsky, 62, of Orinda, has been appointed to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. Brodsky is a partner at Beeson Tayer and Bodine, where she served as an attorney since 2002. She was associate editor for the California Public Employee Relations Program at University of California, Berkeley from 2000 to 2002 and was an attorney in private practice from 1997 to 2002.

Brodsky was an adjunct law professor at the University of San Francisco from 1997 to 2001 and a teacher at Mt. Diablo Unified School District from 1992 to 1996. She was an associate attorney at Saperstein Seligman and Mayeda from 1989 to 1991 and an attorney in private practice from 1984 to 1989. Brodsky held multiple positions at the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing from 1978 to 1983, including staff attorney and legal counsel. She was deputy public defender for the City and County of San Francisco in 1978. Brodsky is an advisory board member of the California Public Employee Relations Program and the Contra Costa County Behavioral Health Court. She is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, California Employment Lawyers Association, National Lawyers Guild and American Civil Liberties Union. Brodsky earned a Juris Doctorate degree from University of California, San Francisco School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Chaya Mandelbaum, 33, of San Francisco, has been appointed member and chair of the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. Mandelbaum has served as in multiple positions at Sanford Heisler LLP since 2011, including senior litigation counsel and associate. He was a trial attorney for the Office of the Solicitor at the United States Department of Labor from 2007 to 2011 and an associate at Morgan Lewis and Bockius LLP from 2005 to 2007. Mandelbaum is vice president of the Scott Raymond Evans Foundation Board of Directors. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Michigan Law School. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Mandelbaum is a Democrat.

Chanee Franklin Minor, 37, of Oakland, has been appointed to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. Franklin Minor has been a staff attorney for the Rent Stabilization Board at the City of Berkeley since 2011. She was an associate at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP from 2006 to 2009, and a staff attorney at the Eviction Defense Center in 2005. Franklin Minor served as commissioner at the Oakland Residential Rent Adjustment Board from 2008 to 2009. She is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California and the Charles Houston Bar Association Board of Directors. Patricia Perez, 45, of Encinitas, has been appointed to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. Perez has been president and chief executive officer at Puente Consulting APC since 2001. She was human resources director and in-house employment counsel at Skadden Arps Slate and Meagher from 2000 to 2001 and project director at the National Center for State Courts from 1998 to 1999. Perez was an attorney at Barnhorst Schreiner and Goonan from 1996 to 1998 and at Balestreri Dorigan and Pendleton from 1993 to 1996. She is a member of the State Bar Labor and Employment Law Executive Committee and served as vice-chair of the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission from 2008 to 2011. Perez earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Perez is registered decline-to-state.

Andrew Schneiderman, 57, of South Pasadena, has been appointed to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. Schneiderman has been vice president and general counsel at the California Commerce Club Inc. since 1994. He worked in multiple positions at Parker Milliken Clark O’Hara and Samuelian from 1987 to 1994, including associate attorney, attorney and equity partner. Schneiderman was an associate attorney at Sternberg and Associates from 1982 to 1987. He is a board member at Imagine LA and has performed pro bono work at Public Counsel Law Center since 2008. Schneiderman earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Schneiderman is a Democrat.

George Krikorian, 67, of Palos Verdes, has been appointed to the California Horse Racing Board. Krikorian has been president and chief executive officer at Krikorian Premiere Theatres since 1983, and president of George Krikorian Stables LLC since 1997. He was the president of Krikorian Enterprises Inc. from 1974 to 1985 and was the real estate branch manager for Tarbell Real Estate Company from 1971 to 1974. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Krikorian is a Republican.

Patrick O’Brien, 67, of Pleasanton, has been appointed to the California Exposition Fair Board of Directors. O’Brien has been chief financial officer at Leisure Sports Inc. since 1994. He was general manager at the Hacienda Owner’s Association from 1992 to 1994, and was principal and project manager at Tracy Hills from 1988 to 1992. O’Brien was a partner at Callahan Pentz Properties from 1983 to 1988 and was founder and chairman of the board at Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan from 1972 to 1981. He was a principal at the Patrick J. O’Brien Accountancy Corporation from 1970 to 1983 and a senior level accountant for Touche Ross and Co. from 1966 to 1970.
