SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Spc. Sean M. Walsh, who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol on Friday (Nov. 18). Spc. Walsh’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Spc. Sean M. Walsh, 21, of San Jose, CA, died November 16, in Khowst province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained after encountering indirect fire. He was assigned to the 185th Military Police Battalion, 49th Military Police Brigade, Pittsburg, CA. Daniels was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
