Crush Monumental by Mark Harris

ASPEN, Colo., Nov. 7, 2014 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — This week, Damian Guillot, owner of Aspen Art Gallery, along with artists and sculptors Mark Yale Harris and James Vilona are making the journey to be featured in the Sculpture Objects Functional Art + Design (SOFA) Fair in Chicago. The Sculpture Objects Functional Art + Design (SOFA) Fair in Chicago is the premier gallery-presented art fair dedicated to three-dimensional art and design.

Critically acclaimed and continuously running since 1994, what distinguishes SOFA from other top art events is its focus on three-dimensional artworks that cross the boundaries of fine art, decorative art and design.

Colorado sculptor and established artist of Aspen Art Gallery, Mark Yale Harris, will be presenting his works this year at SOFA 2014. Mark was most recently recognized through exhibits with the Royal Academy in London, and Royal Scottish Academy. His sculpture has been included in 80+ solo, museum and international exhibitions out of the 250+ exhibitions outlined on his resume. Over one hundred publications have also featured his sculpture (books, magazines, newspapers) in the past 10 years.

Sculptor James Vilona, another Aspen Art Gallery favorite, will also be exhibiting at the event. His works have been created using natural stone materials and have gravitated to more fluid metals, to include Bronze and steel sculpting, and have appeared in numerous international exhibitions of precious metal sculpture and high end diamond jewelry. His sculpture has also appeared in public works for city municipalities, international airports, city public parks, 5 star hotel lobbies, and formal gardens within Hong Kong, Paris, Milan, Bali, New York, Florida, and Colorado.

Damian Guillot, the owner and operator of Aspen Art Gallery, will be also be personally attending the show. Damian founded Aspen Art Gallery after working in the gallery industry for over 10 years, and travels the world hand selecting the artists and their works to appear in his gallery collections. Damian is known for his eclectic and unique collection, and as a result, Aspen Art Gallery has grown rapidly in the past years, recently opening its second location in the upscale Cherry Creek North Shopping District of Denver.

“I choose all of my art personally. If I can’t love it, I can’t sell it,” stated Damian Guillot. “We are proud to see Mark Harris and Jim Vilona showcased in a worldwide recognized event, such as SOFA.”
