TORRANCE, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On August 19, 2014, at approximately 1700 hours, officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a car thief that was being detained by employees at the DCH Toyota car dealership located at 2955 Pacific Coast Highway in the City of Torrance.

According to a press release issued by the Torrance Police Dept., Jose Alfredo Flores, 23 years, of Wilmington was taken into custody without incident after employees recognized him as being a former employee that worked at the dealership as a porter through a company that was contracted through DCH Toyota.

The suspect was seen by witnesses on the property earlier in the day driving a vehicle off the lot that was later reported stolen. The suspect had returned to the dealership in the afternoon to presumably steal another vehicle.

The suspect cooperated with detectives and is responsible for stealing three vehicles in less than a week from DCH Toyota that had been brought in by customers for service.

The first incident occurred on August 13, 2014. Detectives were able to recover two of the vehicles and their investigation is still ongoing.
