California Gov. BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On Friday, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the following appointments: First, Donald Bransford, 66, of Colusa, has been appointed to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture, where he has served since 2006. Bransford has been the owner and president of Bransford Farms since 1980.

Bransford is president of the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District, chair of the University of California President’s Advisory Commission on Agriculture and Natural Resources and a member of the Colusa Unified School District Board of Trustees. He was chair of the USA Rice Federation Rice Producers’ Group from 2001 to 2003, the California Rice Commission from 2001 to 2004 and the Northern California Water Association from 1999 to 2001. Bransford earned a Doctor of Education degree in exercise physiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Master of Arts degree in exercise physiology from Sonoma State University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Bransford is registered without party preference.

Don Cameron, 61, of Helm, has been appointed to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture. Cameron has been general manager and vice president of Terranova Ranch Inc. since 1981. He is a member of the National Cotton Council Board of Directors, western regional director of the American Cotton Producers of the National Cotton Council, chairman of the California Cotton Alliance and chairman of the Environmental Farming Act Science Panel. He is a member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Advisory Committee on Universal Cotton Standards, the California Tomato Growers Association Board and the Supima Board of Directors, where he served as chair from 2011 to 2013. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cameron is a Democrat.

Martha Montoya, 51, of Orange, has been appointed to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture. Montoya has been president of Los Kitos Produce since 2008 and the author of Los Kitos Comics since 1995. Montoya is vice president on the National Association of Hispanic Publications Board of Directors, a member of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility Board and a member of the United Fresh Produce Association Grower-Shipper Board. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Montoya is a Democrat.

Anthony Intintoli Jr., 75, of Vallejo, has been appointed to the San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority Board of Directors, where he has served as vice chair since 2008. Intintoli was mayor of the City of Vallejo from 1999 to 2007 and from 1987 to 1995. He was a GED teacher at the Vallejo Adult School from 1996 to 2002, a teacher at Hogan High School in Vallejo from 1981 to 1995, and served as a Vallejo City Council member from 1977 to 1985. He was a teacher at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in Vallejo from 1977 to 1981, an attorney in private practice from 1968 to 1977 and an assistant judge advocate at the U.S. Air Force, Judge Advocate General’s Department from 1965 to 1989. He was a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Water Transit Authority Board of Directors from 2000 to 2007. Intintoli earned a Master of Arts degree in educational administration from St. Mary’s College, a Master of Arts degree in teaching of history from the University of California, Davis and a Bachelor of Laws degree from St. John’s University Law School. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Intintoli is a Democrat.

Geoffrey L. Baum, 50, of Pasadena, has been appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, where he has served since 2008. He has been director of communications and public affairs at the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands since 2010 and an administrator at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism since 2001. He was executive producer at C-SPAN from 1999 to 2001 and assistant vice president at Claremont McKenna College from 1994 to 1999. Baum was president of the Pasadena Area Community College District Governing Board in 2006 and in 2012. He earned a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Southern California. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Baum is a Republican.

Cecilia Estolano, 47, of Pasadena, has been appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. Estolano has been co-founder of Estolano LeSar Perez Advisors LLC since 2011. She was chief strategist for state and local initiatives at Green for All from 2009 to 2011, chief executive officer at the City of Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency from 2006 to 2009 and a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Affairs from 2006 to 2009. Estolano was of counsel at Gibson Dunn and Crutcher LLP from 2005 to 2006 and served as assistant city attorney at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office from 2001 to 2005 and as a senior policy advisor at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 1993 to 1995. Estolano earned a Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Estolano is a Democrat.
