Calif Gov BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Today, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the following appointments. First: Pamela Ahlin, 50, of Lemoore, has been appointed chief deputy director at the California Department of State Hospitals, where she has been a deputy director since 2012 and has served in multiple positions since 2005, including executive director and hospital administrator at Coalinga State Hospital.

Ahlin served as a staff services manager at Wasco State Prison from 2001 to 2005 and an associate governmental program analyst at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran from 1997 to 2001. She was an associate governmental program analyst at Corcoran State Prison from 1996 to 1997 and a correctional officer at Avenal State Prison from 1991 to 1996. Ahlin earned a Master of Arts degree in leadership and organizational development from Fresno Pacific University. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $147,660. Ahlin is registered decline-to-state.

Terri Hardy, 51, of Sacramento, has been appointed special assistant for program review at the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. She has served in multiple positions at the California Senate Office of Research since 2008, including principal consultant, consultant and assistant consultant. Hardy was a senior reporter at the Sacramento Bee from 2000 to 2008 and a reporter at the Los Angeles Daily News from 1993 to 2000, at the Riverside Press-Enterprise from 1989 to 1993 and at the Idyllwild Town Crier from 1988 to 1989. Hardy is chair of the Crocker/Riverside Elementary School Site Council. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $109,740. Hardy is a Democrat.

Jason Kletter, 42, of Hillsborough, has been appointed to the State Bar of California Attorney Diversion and Assistance Program Oversight Committee. Kletter has held multiple positions at Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment since 1996, including president, chief administrative officer and human resources director. He is president of the California Opioid Maintenance Providers Board of Directors and a member of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence. Kletter earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Kletter is a Democrat.

Tracy LeSage, 44, of Rancho Santa Margarita, has been appointed to the State Bar of California Attorney Diversion and Assistance Program Oversight Committee. LeSage has served in multiple positions at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office since 2000, including assistant public defender and deputy public defender. She was an attorney in private practice from 1999 to 2000 and an attorney at Elder and Manning from 1998 to 1999 and at Blum and Roseman from 1996 to 1998. LeSage is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Orange County Thurgood Marshall Bar Association and is a mentor at Chapman University Fowler School of Law. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Western State University College of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. LeSage is a Democrat.

Jaime Young, 53, of San Carlos, has been appointed to the California 9-1-1 Advisory Board. Young has been director of the San Mateo County Office of Public Safety Communications since 1992. She is a member of the California Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association and a public safety communications representative for the San Mateo County Fire Chiefs’ Association and the Emergency Medical Care Committee of San Mateo County. Young is a public safety communications representative for the California State Sheriffs’ Association and the Association’s representative at the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training Public Safety Dispatcher Advisory Council.
