LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ — A nude pregnant sculpture of Kim Kardashian with her belly fully accessible for gallery-goers to rub for 'good luck' is set for L.A. exhibit. The statue joins the celebrity baby sculptures created recently by artist Daniel Edwards; celebrating the beauty of celebrity pregnancy. The recent work, part of the artist's 'Celebrity Baby Boomer' series that began with the 2006 controversial sculpture 'Monument to Pro-Life,' which depicted a nude Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug, will be revealed at LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles.

The life-size full-figured nude Kardashian sculpture titled "L.A. Fertility" stands curvaceous and proud, with lactiferous breasts, protruding navel and legs akimbo, and features a voluminous belly "designed to entice visitors to give a respectful rub for good luck and success," says publicist Cory Allen.

Other works in the exhibit will include bronzes of Baby Kimye, depicted as a chubby-cheek-cherub with a swirl design pattern shaved in the hair and the Royal Baby, slumbering peacefully in the crown Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess, cast at the Cal State foundry currently managed by Edwards. The artist's prenatal portraits of the angel-winged celebrity fetuses titled "Womb Mates" will also be on display.

"I was inspired by the beauty of Kim Kardashian and felt quite put-off by the media's criticism of her weight gain during pregnancy," said artist Daniel Edwards. "Such criticism should be off limits."

"We live in a media-absorbed culture where anyone can access and share a celebrity's most intimate moments," said Cory Allen. "Daniel visually captures 'that' intimacy."

An auction hosted by Google headquarters recently featured limited edition prints of the Baby Kimye sculpture printed by L.A. based Intellectual Property Prints for Venice Art Walk's annual benefit to provide health care to families in need.

"L.A. Fertility" will debut at LAB ART Gallery, on June 5, 2013 at 11 a.m., located at 217 S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. For more info, contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or http://www.cacanet.com/ .

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Starting at the age of 16, Aloha Wanderwell Baker became the first woman to travel around the globe in an automobile, a Model-T Ford. The new book, "Aloha Wanderwell: Call to Adventure" (ISBN: 978-1484118801), published by the Nile Baker Estate and Boyd Production Group, journals those adventures.

In her own words, Aloha Wanderwell Baker recounts the true story of a fantastic seven-year journey around the world that took place in the 1920s in a Model-T Ford while traveling with the Wanderwell Expedition.

In some ways, Aloha could be considered the "Amelia Earhart of the Automobile." While Amelia circled the globe in the air, Aloha faced her dangers, trials and tribulations down on the ground…and she did it first.

The book contains Aloha's 1939 memoir, "Call to Adventure," in addition to exclusive essays, photos and supplemental materials from the author's estate.

"The book has it all," Richard Diamond, Aloha's grandson and also founder of AlohaWanderwell.com, says. "There's adventure, intrigue, romance and murder."

Readers will travel with Aloha to Europe, the Middle East, India, Japan, China, the Soviet Union, the United States, Cuba and Africa. They will experience, firsthand, the details of her love affair with Captain Walter Wanderwell, a self-proclaimed adventurer, whom she married in 1925 during the American leg of the expedition.

Aloha recaptures pieces of history that include traveling through Italy while Mussolini and the Fascisti were consolidating their power; braving food riots and hostile mobs in Germany; and driving into Palestine, where the Jews were attempting to build a new nation; and more.

During her travels, Aloha disguised herself as a man and prayed in Mecca; she became a confidante of Chinese bandits; and was granted the title of "Honorary Colonel" in the Red Army of Siberia. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

"Aloha Wanderwell: Call to Adventure" is a book that appeals to a wide audience: adventure travel enthusiasts, car buffs, romance readers, people curious about women's history and others.

"Our nose-to-the-ground reporters range in age from eight to 18 and they deliver news on what's happening in current events, action sports, movies, music and TV as well as reveal the latest trends in high-tech devices and video games."

In addition to multiple educational and entertainment outlets, CENKids (CENkids.com) features a video of the month; lists the iTunes Top 20 Singles Chart; and gives kids access to cool video games such as Spec Ops and Stunt Dirt Bike 2.

Currently, an interview done by one of CEN's own reporters, Spencer Owens, with Cameron Revier, manager of Arbor Skateboard team, reveals what's behind a $3 million skateboard park in Venice Beach, Calif. The interview talks about the sustainability of skateboarding and shows up close, non-stop skateboard action.

An upcoming event will take CEN's reporters to Theme Park Bonanza at Universal Studios Hollywood. While there, reporters will explore the park and give viewers a behind-the-scenes look into what makes this place one of the hottest attractions in the world. Viewers will also get to experience the special effects stage where they will learn the secrets behind the making of some of the top blockbuster movies.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Leaked 3D ultrasounds of Socialite Kim Kardashian and Duchess of Cambridge Catherine "Kate" Middleton have been fabricated into works of art by pop-culture artist Daniel Edwards; concluding his "Celebrity Baby Boomer" series that began with the 2006 controversial sculpture "Monument to Pro-Life," which depicted a nude Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug, at select venues in the Los Angeles area this summer, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art.

The prenatal portraits of the winged celebrity fetuses titled "Special K and Little Grape," depicts the unborn babies of the expecting parents of Hollywood Super couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and British Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton. Baby Kimye (Special K) is depicted as a chubby-cheeked-cherub with angelic curls, and 'Ks' shaved in the hair.

The royal baby (Little Grape), who resembles Prince William as an infant, sucks its thumb and wears the crown Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess for King George VI's coronation. The slumbering pair floats in harmony, appearing as womb-mates.

"I drew upon the artistic influences of Hans Holbein, King's Painter to King Henry VIII and contemporary baby photographer Anne Geddes," said Daniel Edwards, "but the current ultrasound technology helped me to create the portraits of these babies while they are still in the womb."

In preparation of the statue for the celebrity babies, the artist made pilgrimages to the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. to study Hans Holbein's Portrait of Edward VI as a Child from 1538, and to New Zealand to meet with Anne Geddes.

"The media frenzy and the public's fascination with celebrity babies has hit a fever pitch with Britney Spears, then Suri Cruise, Octomom, and Angelina Jolie's twins, to which, Daniel has created all into works of art," said Cory Allen. "And it is no wonder we see a spike in teen pregnancies when sensational headlines about celebrity pregnancies occur."

"Special K and Little Grape" will soon debut later this summer at select locations in Los Angeles, California, to be announced June 2013. For more info, contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or visit http://www.cacanet.com/ .

SANTA ANA, Calif. /California Newswire/ -- 'This is an exceptional exhibit, one that offers deeply personal work from photographers launching new themes,' noted Bob Killen, the fine art program leader for Calumet University, the education and events division of Calumet Photographic which hosts the Calumet Gallery.

SANTA ANA, Calif. /California Newswire/ — "This is an exceptional exhibit, one that offers deeply personal work from photographers launching new themes," noted Bob Killen, the fine art program leader for Calumet University, the education and events division of Calumet Photographic which hosts the Calumet Gallery.

Calumet Photographic's Santa Ana Store, 1430 S. Village Way, Santa Ana, CA 92705, will host the exhibit in their Gallery Room from April 26 – May 26. "We will also host a public Artists Reception, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 26 with an artist talk at 6:30," said Mark Jenkins, General Manager. "This is a unique opportunity to view and own new, emerging voices that are exploring new themes."

"The graduates, Gizella Nyquist, Pamela Lagoni, and Dave Nelson, explored deeply significant themes," said Killen. "In these artists' work, one quickly feels the extended emotional range and recognizes the personal voices each has brought to their work."

David Nelson delivers a thematic project that explores "Gian"' commercial signs and business friendly sculptures from Southern California's boom years. These huge "sky-punching" works of neon, steel, and plastic are iconic metaphors that testify to the egos that drove the urban sprawl and rapid unchecked development.

Pamela Lagoni explores mechanical detail with robust images of gears, spokes, and clutches, each of them rendered with an 'in-close' perspective. Her prints draw viewers into a world of images that present the hard edges of power works as well as the soft glamour of chrome and candy apple paints.

Gizella Nyquist presents an inventive exploration of form and structure derived from her study of tree bark, the California Sycamore specifically. Her eye for detail at one level and her sense of the grander meaning of nature at another pushed her to explore various forms "Hidden Within" the rich textures and colors of the bark.

"While the subject matter is unique to each of these artists, the unifying power of light binds them into a common text of uncommon views that explores work that is a vision beyond documentation," Killen pointed out.

"This level of work," Jenkins said, "is indicative of the depth and breadth of photography exhibits that Calumet is proud to present and to help develop. We invite the public to share time with the artists at our wine/cheese reception and review the new work."

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ -- According to retirement crisis expert. and author of 'Don't Go Broke Paying the Nursing Home' (ISBN: 978-0988902619), Karl Kim, CFP, CLTC; each year thousands of people are thrust into a 'care crisis' when a family member or loved one needs long-term care.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ — According to retirement crisis expert, and author of "Don't Go Broke Paying the Nursing Home" (ISBN: 978-0988902619), Karl Kim, CFP, CLTC; each year thousands of people are thrust into a "care crisis" when a family member or loved one needs long-term care. The challenge is not only finding the right nursing home; what can be even more challenging is figuring out how to pay for the care – and how to minimize possible damage to the rest of the family.

"That information isn't easy to find," says retirement crisis planner Karl Kim, CFP, CLTC. "Every year I speak with hundreds of adult children and their parents who have gotten bad advice, or who don't know where to turn for answers. That's the reason I wrote 'Don't Go Broke Paying the Nursing Home.' Now every Californian can understand what needs to be done to protect their home, cash and retirement accounts."

Karl Kim's book is an easy-to-read quick reference guide. It provides answers in simple language to common questions such as:

* What information do you need to provide to Medi-Cal?
* Do you need an attorney to submit the application?
* What is the maximum amount a person or couple can have to qualify for Medi-Cal?
* What is the difference between Medicare, Medicaid and Medi-Cal?
* Which assets count and which don't?
* What is the maximum amount of income a person can have and still qualify?
* When does someone apply?
* How long does the application process take?
* Do you have to be broke to qualify for Medi-Cal?

"Don't Go Broke Paying the Nursing Home" (ISBN: 978-0988902619) explains Medi-Cal Recovery procedures.

"Most people don't realize Medi-Cal is effectively a loan from the State of California," explains Kim. "If proper steps aren't taken, the state will place a claim against the home and other assets."

California's regulations covering the aging population can be difficult to keep up with. That becomes apparent in a care crisis – when what a family has "done wrong" can come back to bite them – financially and logistically.

The book is available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon: http://amzn.com/0988902613 .

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Performer Moky Huynh announced this week that he will perform a 75-minute solo show – "USC Dropout" – on Wednesday, April 17 at the Elephant Stages' Lillian Theatre on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.

"This theatre is one of the largest and most sought-after theatre venues in Los Angeles and I am thrilled to perform this show about humanity in the City of Angels," Huynh says.

"USC Dropout" has a clear message: education is a lifelong endeavor, not just a degree. And, despite the show's title, Huynh completely supports higher education; he merely views it as a slice of education – not the whole pie.

This solo show is written, produced and performed by Huynh and combines comedy, drama and dance. It focuses on the myriad of paths that life provides.

"Where those paths lead, and which paths are taken are left to the individual; that's the beauty of life," Huynh says. "The theme and profundity of 'USC Dropout' will relate to all walks of life – anyone who is interested in social issues."

The warehouse-like space provided at the Elephant Stages' Lillian Theater includes a 20-foot, wood-beamed ceiling; and beautifully exposed brick walls – the ideal venue for Huynh to demonstrate his rich talents.

"My life changed forever when I moved to Los Angeles, and I thank USC for the seamless transition. The vast array of assorted characters allowed me to thrive and discover my rhythm – spiritually and creatively," he says.

Tickets to the show are $10 at the door and may also be purchased at a discounted rate on the website: http://www.mokyartistry.com/ .

About Moky Huynh:

Huynh was born in Vietnam. He moved to the United States with his family when he was six-months old. Raised in Seattle, he relocated to California where he attended USC. While there, he studied filmmaking, but his passion for live performance could not be quelled. Solo artists such as Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Whoopi Goldberg all inspired him. As a result, once he learned the basics of filmmaking, he left school to pursue live performance and filmmaking.

With only one semester left to complete, his drive to perform in the "real world," was just too strong. "USC Dropout" is a result of this passion. He has performed in Seattle and San Francisco; this will be his debut performance in Los Angeles.
